The Food Cart is EXPENSIVE!
I’m originally from West Virginia and the majority of my family still lives in the mountain state. So when I moved to Washington, D.C. the most affordable option to travel other than driving is to take the Amtrak train. From Washington, D.C. to Hinton, West Virginia is roughly an 8-9 hour trip (there is a 95% delay). One thing you want to make sure of is that you have packed a lunch, snacks, and drink! It’s going to be a long trip!
Let’s see what I packed for my lunch during my recent Amtrak trip. Honestly… as much as I love Amtrak, the prices for food are way too much. $2.50 for a can of Sprite, $3.00 for M&Ms, and $6.00 for a grilled cheese you can keep it! Pro-tip get food at Union Station (Washington, D.C) or pack your lunch. It’s better! Trust me!
